Be intentional and focused

Familiar words for some, alien for others…

Be intentional and focused. With those skills you will create a road map that poises you for success. If you do not have the skill, you can acquire it by following the suggestions below.

What does it mean to be intentional?

Being intentional means having the ability to see specific results in the future that, if you achieve them, will make things bigger and better for yourself, your business, and your life. Having an intentional focus is a way of thinking about your business and life that’s committed, purposeful and deliberate. (Google)

Why it is important to create an intentional life.

It makes you happier.

You gain a better understanding of your needs.

It inspires you.

You’re better able to weigh what matters and what does not.

It gives you clarity.

You reconnect with that deeper part of yourself that resonates with your higher truth.  Intentional life E B Johnson

14 Practical ways to be intentional

1. Be intentional with your time. It helps to schedule when you plan to get things done. Having structure gives you a sense of control over your day.

2. Make a to-do list. Without a to-do list, it can be overwhelming remembering everything in your head. Writing them out can at least reduce the burden you feel.

3. Wake up early. Some of us have no choice but to wake up early because of our jobs. If you do have a choice, a good way to be more intentional is to start your day early anyway.

4. Go to sleep early. Sleeping early will help you wake up early.

5. Watch positive content. Choose to read or watch content that affects your well-being in a positive way.

6. Listen to uplifting music. Choose to have songs in your playlist that will keep your emotions good.

7. Meal preparation. It is a great way save you some time in your day. It can also help you avoid eating things that are not as good for you.

You have to be your own shepherd…

8. Think before you speak. Speak to others in ways that are helpful and encouraging.

9. Let people know what is bothering you. It can teach people how to treat you the way you want.

10. Reward yourself. It can serve you well to take time to reward your progress. You have to be a friend to yourself as much as you are a friend to others.

11. Question things. When you question things, you can get closer to an understanding that guides you to a better future.

12. Journal your thoughts. Some thoughts that you probably do not always feel comfortable telling anyone. Journaling can be the way that you do that. Once you have those words written down, you might feel less stressed inside.

13. Eliminate distractions. Choose to not be on your phone or social media for most of the day.

14. Make time for those you care about. Go out of your way to spend time with your loved ones. It is one of the best ways you can live intentionally. Eric (Antimaximalist)
