Spirituality: indispensable skill.
You must attend to spiritually as you would to any other skill if you want to grow, achieve and conquer.
Let us start with a definition: Spirituality involves the recognition of a feeling or sense or belief that there is something greater than myself, something more to being human than sensory experience, and that the greater whole of which we are part is cosmic or divine in nature. (Dr Maya Spencer)
It means different things to different people. For some, it’s primarily about a belief in God and active participation in organized religion. For others, it’s about non-religious experiences that help them get in touch with their spiritual selves through quiet reflection, time in nature, private prayer, yoga, or meditation (Psychology Today).
Wikipedia says, “There is no single, widely agreed upon definition of spirituality.”
People get attracted to spirituality and embark on their spiritual journeys for different reasons. Generically, there are a few main reasons for this:
Curiosity about the spiritual dimension : This includes seeking answers to the more profound questions in life.
Facing a problem in life: Insurmountable problems in life are often a catalyst for people to search for an answer to their problems.
Interested in spiritual healing : The ability to heal by channelizing subtle energies is an art that has been pursued for millennia.
Interested in personality improvement : Wanting to be a better person can lead one to spirituality and a more spiritual way of life.
Wanting to grow spiritually : Some of us have an innate need to grow spiritually and do not need a catalyst to push us towards spirituality. (Spiritual Science Research Foundation)

How can you grow spiritually?
Spiritual development and growth is usually associated with religion or taking up some kind of religious doctrine. This is one of the biggest misconceptions of spiritual growth. You don’t need to be religious to grow spiritually. Here are only five of literally hundreds of ways to grow spiritually:
A. Look inward
The key aspect of spiritual growth is introspection as it enables you to look inward. It examines your experiences and relationships, and decisions. Upon introspection, uphold your good traits and abandon the bad ones.
Meditation is one of the simplest and most effective ways to develop spiritual growth. You can combine introspection with meditation to boost the impact of both and develop spiritually.
C. Take care of the basic needs:
Often the main barriers to spiritual growth are the day to day needs. If your basic physiological and emotional needs are fulfilled, your spiritual or existential needs come next in line. Your beliefs, morality, values, and experiences will guide you in your quest for spiritual growth. To grow spiritually, work on being self-actualized.
D. Seek meaning:
We do not just simply exist, our lives have a purpose, and finding that purpose can help you grow spiritually. You can utilise your physical, emotional and intellectual potentials to achieve a big goal, and reach a meaningful destination.
E. Recognise interconnections:
We are all interconnected: people. animals, plants, all the things in nature, and more. Everything that exists is a composite of atoms. If you realise this, you can begin to value everything that’s all around you. You can become a steward of all the things around you, go beyond our comfort zone and reach out to other people.
